Gingerbread Houses at City Centre in Seattle
We’ve had some visitors in the house for the past week, and we got to do more than our usual amount of touring. Yesterday we saw the Christmas Parade at Macy’s in Seattle, and then we went to the City Centre mall and saw the gingerbread house collection. Proceeds from this exhibition benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. The houses were nothing short of amazing, and I took a whole lot of pictures.

Dear Jeff, We are 1st graders in Texas and we LOVED your pictures. We are going to make our own gingerbread houses with our teacher and these pictures gave us tons of ideas! Thank you for sharing these houses with all of us! Thank You, Hyde First Graders

Hey Jeff, Thanks for the photos of these amazing creations. Gives me something to strive for when making my house later this month. I may have to go minimalist with a Phillip Johnson glass house though to cut down on the quantity of work…

Hi Jeff,
Whoa! As a student of baking and patisserie, I’m completely jealous - my gingerbread house project for class looked NOTHING like these guys. Absolutely incredible. Have any information on what bakeries or pastry chefs made these?

Hi All,
For those who have been asking, I believe these are the creations of several architecture firms around the city, which is why they’re so spectacular. It’s a stunning display.
Comment by Turi — 12/9/2005 @ 2:52 pm
Wow, Jeff. Great photos of a wonderful display. I took my kids to see these gingerbread creations the other night but forgot to take my camera. We also loved seeing the giant nutcrackers displayed around the city… Thanks!

Jeff,
Thanks for getting this pictures out on the web. Turi, was right they are design by local Architecture firms. They are built by the chefs at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel and Towers with the help of the architecture firm. Glad that everyone has enjoyed them.
